Mr Grant Smith

Grant is a qualified Radiation Therapist with over 30 years’ experience. He gained a Bachelor of Business Majoring in Accounting in 1992.

Grant held the position of Chief Radiation Therapist /Manager at the Launceston General Hospital, WP Holman Clinic for over 25 years.

Grant has been involved with Radiation Therapy on a National basis being part of the Radiation Oncology Reform Implementation Committee (RORIC) process.  He chaired the RORIC Service Planning Forum for seven years.  He was also a member of the RORIC Workforce Working Group Committee and the RORIC Research Working Party for six years. Grant was also a member of the Steering Committee for the Radiation Oncology Skill Mix and Workforce Analysis Project and member of the Port Film Review Committee.

Grant was the Northern Area Health Service Director of Capital Works from 2011 to 2014 managing the major redevelopment works on the LGH precinct.

Most recently from 2016 to 2020 he was Statewide Director of the Integrated Operations Centre Project. This was a suite of projects aimed at improving patient care and flow through the statewide health system.

Grant also participated in eight Gateway Reviews for the Victorian Government from 2011 to 2019.  This is a quality assurance process for high risk / high value projects.

Grant was a Director of the Toosey Board, an aged care and community service organisation in Longford from 1999 to 2008.
